Bob Keller

Senior Content Director

Bob joined the Content team at Words & Numbers in 2009. As part of the Content Division, Bob directs selected projects within Humanities and Adult Learning. He also works with the Sales and Solutions Division on collaborative initiatives with our clients, and he spearheads the company’s mobile learning initiative.

Before joining Words & Numbers, Bob was the Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Social Studies at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, a role in which he was responsible for the planning and execution of a number of successful, market-driven programs, including Harcourt Social Studies, North Carolina Social Studies, and California Reflections. Bob began his career at Harcourt as assistant editor in 1986 and spent 17 of his 22 years at Harcourt in the

Reading/Language Arts Department. As director of that department, he was instrumental in the planning and management of the Trophies reading program, as well as leading or contributing to numerous reading, language arts, remedial reading ESL/ELL, spelling, and art programs. While at HMH, Bob led the Innovation Advantage Team and the Change Management initiative and was an executive team participant in the Lean Process initiative. Bob has also served on National Middle School Association’s Publications Review Board since 2004.

Before joining Harcourt, Bob taught middle school reading and adult basic education for 10 years and was involved in several curriculum development projects, including remedial reading and cooperative learning modules for Johns Hopkins University.
