Heather Gunsallus

Executive Director, Editorial

Heather began working at Words & Number in January 2002. As Executive Director of Editorial, Heather oversees the operational delivery of content development. Heather is responsible for ensuring quality content, customer satisfaction, and execution of company goals. Heather began her career with Words & Numbers as an Assistant Editor on the math team, and has grown with the company into her current role. Beginning with her work storyboarding the BestQuest Algebra’scool program in 2004, Heather has been instrumental in leading the company’s transformation from print to digital products. Heather has led the company in its collaboration with graphic designers, visual designers, and animators, as well as the print compositors. More recently, Heather supervised the development of BestQuest’s middle school program, Math’scool; three online middle school programs for Florida Virtual School; and three online college preparatory programs with University of California College Prep. For the latter courses, Heather was a member of the team that conceptualized the product solution for this client.

Before coming to Words & Numbers, Heather taught math in a Maryland high school where she was an active member of the faculty and helped develop an Integrated Algebra curriculum.

Heather graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Secondary Education with a concentration in mathematics.
